AFDA is the leading outcomes-based education provider on the African continent and has over 2000 students, a full-time staff contingent of over 200 and 4 fully equipped campuses in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. AFDA has produced some of the top filmmakers, performers and creative innovators in South Africa and beyond, and has made a significant contribution to developing a sustainable local entertainment industry. AFDA students are taught to conceptualize, create and develop indigenous products and commodities for the local and international markets. Registration & Accreditation:
AFDA is registered as the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, and is a private higher education institution which offers higher certificate and degree programmes that are registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) under the Higher Education Act, 1997 and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). AFDA’s programmes are accredited and we participate productively in the ongoing reaccreditation and quality assurance processes of the Council on Higher Education (CHE) to ensure the quality of our programmes. The DHET registration certificate number for AFDA is 2001/HE07/012.

Once you have submitted the application form:
Book a consultation at your nearest AFDA campus for a consultation so they can take you through all the information you need to know going forward. If you are unable to make it to a campus, they can arrange for a telephonic consultation.
Pay the registration fee to secure your place.
Before classes start, make it official by completing enrolment.
AFDA does not having closing dates for applications. Prospective students are encouraged to apply online or at your chosen campus as soon as possible. Once accepted, secure your place by paying registration. Once our programmes are full with registered students, there will be a waiting list for student still looking to register for the coming year.
There is no application fee to apply to AFDA. Applicants will need to pay a registration fee once accepted, in order to secure a place in their chosen programme.
